The series "MAURESQUE" is composed of Diptychs and Triptychs. Realized in Nouakchott, Mauritania in Nov 2016 / Feb 2017.

"MAURESQUE" is an homage to the beautiful country Mauritania, where Fabrice lived between 2009-2012 and where he got inspired to go back to his passion of analog photography, which he originally learned from his father as a child. 

It reveals Mauritanian women in the desert, put in place for the photography in a sometimes rather mystic, sometimes neutral way. The viewer might capture this insight or idea for a moment but is then often left behind with open questions on what is actually behind - behind the Melehfa (the Mauritanian shawl for women) or the women's glimpse. Linked to the endlessly feeling of the great Sahara desert in Mauritania.
